Women with PCOS — what kind of support from friends actually helps?

Hey everyone,

I’m a 23M, and one of my close friends (27F ) has been dealing with PCOS since around 2012. We mostly talk through calls and chats, and meet once in a while. I care about her a lot and genuinely want to be supportive in the right way.

I know PCOS can affect people physically, emotionally, hormonally, confidence-wise, energy levels, mood, etc., but I also understand every person experiences it differently.

So I wanted to ask women here who deal with PCOS:

1)What kind of support actually helps?

2)How do you like people to check in on you?

3)What should someone avoid saying or doing?

  1. Do you prefer practical help/advice, or just someone listening?

  2. What made you feel genuinely cared for by a friend/partner during difficult phases?

I’m not trying to “save” or “fix” her — I just want to understand better and be someone who makes things a little easier instead of harder.

Would really appreciate honest answers.

Thanks :)
