I recently bought a Gold CPO - 4Runner (low miles <20K, a couple years old) in California, that immediately requried repairs.

The dealership fixed the issues, but it was a long path to get it done and caused significant headache.

They are willing to pay a settlement for the issues (I asked for an amount and they agreed to it), but I have to sign a very robust confidentiality agreement including things that are very one-sided to favor them. I'm basically giving up my rights to not only sue for this item (which is perfectly reasonable) but anything in the future (including unknown items). CA has a law in their vehicle code (1542) which mandates you give up all claims, even unknown things forever.

I have a very well documented case which is I why believe they are settling, but the 1542 waiver, among other language in the document makes me nervous. Is it worth fighting? Anyone have any experience/luck negotiating the settlement agreements?
