Ear infections and continuous complications
My dog (german shepherd, american pitbull terrier, american staffordshire terrier, newfoundland mix) age 2 years, female (spayed) has had complications with what we believe bad allergies. it started when around when she was 6 months old, she was itching a lot and causing bald spots where the itchiest areas were, then developed an ear infection in both ears (unsure what type). we took her the vet and they treated the ears and started on apoquel once a day.
After about 8 months she developed an ear infection and was itching more again. started her on 2 apoquel and gave her an allergy injection. after the injection wore off we went back to 2 apoquel daily.
Then she started itching and ear infections after 4 months. Started her on the allergy injects, apoquel PRN (2 months in).
2 weeks ago we took her to the vet, they said it was a yeast infection.
Today she started shaking her head and they look really awful, inside on the ear flap there’s brown spots around the inside of her ear, and her actual ear is red and inflamed and WET AND SMELLY (ask for photo)
idk what to do anymore, my vets lowkey suck and i just want this to stop. we tried doing food trials but they stopped either a limited ingredient (salmon and sweet potatoes) kibble.
please give me any advice. i just feel so bad
