Long story short, I knocked down the wall in my kitchen to open up into the living/dining room. Unfortunately there’s a gas line I can’t move (NYC co-op) that goes right through my island so I was thinking about painting the pipe black and just building the island around it. Of course there will be a seam…. Would the whiter cristallo hide the seam better than the gray one? What would other options be to conceal the pipe? My GC recommended building a drywall box around it but i think that’ll look cheap.
