What’s it like to be in the shelter system? What does one do if they are robbed of attacked? What if someone is verbally abusive?
Are there sources I can read stats or feedback from?
TIA

My first day on the street this week. I have a pop up tent and a hiking bag packed with things I’m gonna need based on what I compiled from forums and subreddits.
Would it better to stay at a Toronto shelter if you’re a small visibly gay man? I’d rather stay in the tent if it means I can avoid bullying. What has been your experience?
Wishing all safety and calm.
