Just wanted to provide some info in case this helps anyone looking for a provider in LA/ OC area.
My issues have been going on for aprox 6 months, i initially had clicking in my right jaw/ TMJ area , no pain . Now I have no real clicking but can’t open my moth very wide and constant headaches/ muscle pain and now starting with trigaminal nerve pain.
I did a consult and X-rays with Dr Demerjian but he wanted me to pay over 5k for 6 months of treatment with a bite guard, not sure how effective he would be but not in my budget. I did have to spend 600 out of pocket for the office visit and X-rays. Wish I would have skipped that.
I am doing acupuncture and chiropractic at the local acupuncture and chiropractic collage SCU in Whittier
I made an appt with a neurologist for the chronic headaches but can’t be seen until July.
I made an appt with Dr Bryan Kim/ cranial facial pain clinic in mission Viejo. My appt with him is in a month.
I wanted to make an appt at ucla cranio facial pain clinic and I left a few messages but no call back . I just got a call back and have an appt with them in 2 weeks to see their residence and they take my insurance .
I am going to go to ucla office visit and then decide whether to cancel appt with Dr. Kim.
Hope this helps someone local and looking for a provider. This sucks and even as a nurse and someone that works in healthcare and insurance this process is ridiculous.
