I looked at discussions on the subreddit with a similar topic, but all of them for some reason ignored the TD genre, even though I would consider them just as strategic and tactical as games like SoC or Langrisser. So I want to ask, what would you say is the gacha with the best gameplay in the genre (Aka games that use more brain power than hand power)

The current choice for me would be Sword of Convallaria. Never played an SRPG so SoC was a fresh experience for me, and I really enjoyed it. The gameplay was fun and smooth, and I especially like how you can interact with the environment to gain an advantage (For example there are TNT barrels that you can push onto the enemies and they'll explode upon impact). There is a decent amount of endgame content, tho tbh after a while I felt it was pretty repetitive and boring, tho maybe because I don't really have a "grindy" mindset. My biggest gripe for the game is the PvP mode. You can do 3 PvP matches per day, but it's pretty easy because the AI for the defense is pretty ass. So to reach to the top you just need to log in and do the daily matches without any difficulty. Other than that I would definitely recommend the game. Also, not related to the gameplay but SoC is the best optimized gacha I've played. Back then I was rocking a Dell Latitude 7290 (You can look it up) and I still managed to get the capped 60 fps with shaders on. Yeah it's a pixel game but I still had to give the game flowers for it because I thought it was impossible for any gacha to run that smoothly on that laptop

I would also spend some time talking about Limbus Company. The clashing mechanic was definitely fun and interesting at the start, and unlike most people I enjoyed my time playing Mirror Dungeons. However that is all the goods I can say. The core gameplay mechanic is still RNG-based, and you could literally lose by some godforsake RNG even if all of your units are at max luck (SP). And not directly related to the gameplay, but almost everything you do is extremely tedious, mainly because of the UX when clashing. When your unit (ID) uses a Skill 3, the animation focuses on that character only, and when you have a turn where multiple units use S3, it creates an unnecessarily super-long animation sequence that can all be done at once. Also, the lack of endgame content, there's that. I would recommend trying it out first to see if you enjoy it, because once you get past the gameplay, you can experience peak storytelling

I would imagine games like Arknights are on top of everyone's mind, but I haven't played it so I can't comment on it

What's your opinion on the matter?
