Why this game is fun, but why this game will never be great.
A Rant. TBH, i dont really care if you dont like it.
This game has some major flaws that force it way down on the list of games i will defend as being ridiculously fun to play. I have fully completed every level on every class, with every weapon fully unlocked. I have hundreds of hours in PVP, and I did it because I kept trying to find the Gameplay loop that made me the most happy.
I never found it.
Not in any of the classes, or in any of the builds. And I tried.
The first part of the game, felt like a Power fantasy just blasting ass and stomping heads. Absolute became an unbelievable hellscape of low level players ruining runs, and Try hards who bitched and moaned about every pickup they didnt get, and every execution that someone "stole" from them. The playerbase made running solo so undesirable, that I hated almost every second of it. I can honestly say that Absolute and Hard Strats effectively ruined the fun of the game for me.
The Shortcomings of this game have become so blatantly irritating that it became a Nurgle sized Rash that was spewing pus everytime a Random Key'd the Mic to complain about their butt itching.
Why? Why have i grown so fucking pissed off at this game?
Simple.
Armor and Health became an unmitigated disaster. Missing one roll dodge and losing all your health. Snipers landing bullshit shots. Enranged boneswords knocking down all my health. CONTESTED FUCKING HEALTH. Armor getting zero'd on fucking chaos guardsmen's las rifles. Patch after Patch of them fucking with this, or fucking with that... All to increase the "difficulty" but all it really felt like was, they had zero creative ways to make the game harder and resorted into the never ending cycle of fucking with TIMING MECHANICS.
Space Marine is, and will always be.... a fucking Animation Counting Simulator.
If I hear one more player key up the mic to say "YOU STOLE MY KILL" while im pushing 50k damage on a power fist, while they spray a Green Rifle off the hip, ill vomit
