Happy labor day!
Hey folks,
Do you own a business such as a café, restaurant, furniture shop, clothing brand, hotel, consultancy, beauty parlour, garage, etc.?
Do you hire baristas, cooks, waiters, receptionists, helpers, carpenters, beauticians, technicians, shop assistants, etc.?
If yes, do you pay them Rs. 19,550 and make them work only 8 hours a day?
Or do you fall into the category where you run your business for 10–12 hours and make the same person work 10–12 hours while paying only Rs. 10,000–15,000?
Also, if you are a student or looking for a job, know that the law guarantees you Rs. 19,550 for 8 hours of work. So ask for it or stand up for it. Let’s set a trend.
Some Pros/Benefits of implementing labor law:
- Reduction in stress, frustration and also crime
-Frustration among youth and crime driven by financial struggles would decrease if people knew they could earn around Rs. 19,550 anywhere they work. For example, in a poor family where two people (father and son) are working, they could earn at least Rs. 39,000 excluding overtime. If three members work, it could reach around Rs. 60,000.(Poor who)
One could be a poor but due to implementation of labour law a poor family could also lead a good life.
- Housing
-Imagine a sukumbasi family apart from people who can't work. They could earn that amount of guaranteed if this law is implemented and also could rent a room costing 3k-10 k all over Nepal. Working over the years they could save some money or take loans after a few years and build a home.
- Sports development
-Many athletes struggle financially. If sportspersons at national, provincial, and regional levels were guaranteed at least Rs. 19,550, more people would pursue sports. With SSF support, they could also receive medical benefits for injuries. This could help Nepal win medals in events like the SAAF, Asian Games and Olympics, while also creating 20,000–40,000 sports-related jobs.
- Reduction in migration abroad
-If people are assured of minimum wages in every field after completing a diploma or bachelor’s degree, they may be more motivated to stay and work in the country.
If employers also contribute to SSF, workers can receive health benefits, including up to 80% coverage on medical expenses, along with other benefits.
5.Many more pros… (feel free to add)
- Minimum salary for licenced Bachelor passed out
We need to create a educated generation in Nepal and motivate more students to study at least bachelor's and work in country by guaranteeing them proper salary system.
-Kehi mahina agee licensed nurses protested in front of hospitals across Nepal demanding Rs. 34,000 salary, Engineers have been asking for Rs. 37,000, and journalists also protested a few months ago due to lack of minimum wages.
Yesley clearly dekhaucha ki payroll Ani labour law ko weakness cha. If licence pako diploma pass or bachelor pass CA, doctors, enginners, nurse, journalist, etc. haru Lai yo demand meet garyo bhaney. Dherai ramro huntho..Nepal ma job na bhako haina. X amount of job cha but Nepal job market unmanaged cha.
Hospitals can pay strating salary of licenced nurse 34k, industries can starting salary of licenced enginners as 37 k, and many job provider can pay bachelor passed out as minimum starting salary over 30k. But they don't pay due to lack of implementation or engagement by government.
Also For example: There are jobs paying 2-3-4 lakhs per months Tara Kirtipur ko dada ma haina sapai manufacturing industries ma...jastai ki harek steel industries ma 3-4-5 lakh per months ko jobs chan but tyo jobs haru ma Indians haru chan..there are about 1500 jobs only in steel industries in about 90-100 steel companies that pay over 1-2 lakhs per months overs the years..Ani per year about 200 mechanical engineers passout hunchan..the job market is there..but Nepal Kai companies ma Nepali le job paudainan..Ani skilled bhayera tya samma pugney bato ni paudainan..as marwadi owners prefer Indian people.
If two laws by recent government i.e.
(1. Proper implementation of labor laws for minimum salary and also random check by labor ministry by picking random salary sheet/statement of employees from all industry time to time and fine them if they don't pay that minimum amount.
Job providers like industries should have at least 90% of Nepali employee.
Divide labour force into unskilled, semi skilled, skilled, highly skiled category and create minimum pay amount similar to countries like Germany, etc.)
Then we can make Nepal’s job market more attractive and reduce brain drain.
Also job providers haru needy lai kaam garayera minimum pay garnus..Nepal Mai basna motivate garnus..
Thanks!
Hey folks,
Happy labours day
Do you own a business like a cafe, restaurant, furniture, shops, clothing brand, normal hotels, consultancy, beauty parlour, garage, etc?
And do you hire a barista, cook, waiter, receptionist, helper, carpenter, beautician, technician, helper in shops, etc?
Do you pay them 19,550 and make them work 8 hours only?
Or do you fall in the category where you run your business from 10-12 hours and make the same person work for 10-12 hours and pay 10-15 thousand only?
Also please if you are a student or trying to work anywhere know that law guarantees you Rs. 19,550 for 8 hours of work at anyplace. So ask for it or fight for it. Set a trend.
Also frustration, crimes, etc. would decrease in society when people would know that if I go anywhere to work I would get about 19 thousand in hand. Imagine a poor family where 2 people( dad and son ) worked anywhere, would earn a 39,000 minimum excluding overtime and where 3 people worked could earn about 60,000 (Garib who?)).
Imagine a sukumbasi family apart from people who can't work. They could earn that amount of guaranteed and also rent a room costing 3k-10 k all over Nepal. Working over the years they could save some money or take loan after few years and build home.
If you also put some money in SSF the individual can get health benefits and 80% discount of every medical expenses and other benefits too.
P.S. (Garib Lai Kam garayera uniharu ko pet ma laat hannahunna hai..Kam paisa diyera)
Thanks.
(I will write another post where the licenced nurse protested for 34 K salary, licensed engineers are asking for 37 K salary and a few months back journalists protested for lack of minimum payment. And how the recent government could guarantee rights by implementing labour law. And also guaranteeing bachelor's passed out nurses, doctors, engineers, bankers, journalists, chartered accountants, etc at minimum wages after getting licence could make the job market attractive and would motivate some people to stay in the country and also do complete bachelor's in country and make a passion driven society rather than scope/money driven society.
