I know this is not much to go on, but i remember:

MC is a slave, and get freed by a warriortribe, where the warriors are all women.

He gets taken in, by one such warrior, and beginning to train as a warrior.

There's then a tournament against a different village, and he wins.

I know this is so little to go on, and its all pretty much standard prog fantasy, yet any help would be appreciated.
