(Tl:dr) sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I’m a leftist who is feeling hopeless about living in the United States atm. Ever since Trump got into office, I feel like I’ve been on this endless roller coaster of getting my hopes up because it seems like something could end this nightmare, to nothing happening and watching him make our lives even worse
But I genuinely don’t know where we go from here. There is no hiding the corruptness on their part. It’s right there in our faces. We are watching the general, working class American get screwed over and over again, and from my view, nothing is being done about it?
Prices are rising. We the people pay the tariffs, yet companies are the ones getting refunded for it? There’s mass layoffs, finding a job is insanely difficult, so many of us are simply living paycheck to paycheck, budget cuts galore. AI slop being apart of our lives. Now gas is up because Trump started a war most Americans don’t want, yet we have no say in ending it because our government is being held hostage by MAGA. Not to mention the inside trading and Trump manipulating the market. The rich are getting richer and we are being pushed to our limit.
All the human rights violations ICE is committing, and we don’t know a fraction of what’s really going on in their camps. The man who killed Renee Good isn’t in prison? Huh?
And the Epstein stuff is a blatant coverup. The law is being broken. Congress passed the Epstein transparency act, and now trump’s admin is doing everything in their power to keep that locked up. The process is so damn slow too. Nothing is getting done. Then I have to hear about congress going on recess every other month for what? How far do the American people have to be pushed for them to take action?
I’m so angry about the costs and Epstein coverup that I barely have any energy left to be upset about how marginalized groups are having their rights taken away (me being apart of 2 groups). Ooh and the censorship, takeover of our media, suppression of social media content, etc etc.
The lack of action or force to stop this blatantly corrupt president is what’s driving me mad. If I have to read another worthless, strongly worded statement from a Democrat, talking about how “enough is enough” I’m gonna hulk out. I thought our constitution was set in place to prevent regimes like this to take power yet here we are. A slow, ineffective system that has not shown any results. I don’t really care to hear any excuses because the lack of speed and urgency is causing so much suffering, death, poverty, etc. People are suffering as a result of this administration, physically and emotionally. We’re being expected to go to work and function normally while watching all this chaos, being slapped with gut wrenching headlines, and watching the world turn into everything I stand against.
And the ironic thing is, my personal life is actually going well. I’ve been focusing on taking care of myself and that’s been yielding results, but I’m just not seeing any way this can get better. I’ve been letdown too many times. Trump is clearly trying to rig the midterms. Democrats are useless. All we’ve been doing is going to protests on a weekend, making silly signs, which is great that so many people are willing to go out, but when are we going to start inconveniencing their lives? When do we start hurting their pockets? A sign calling Trump a taco isn’t going to do shit. Where and how can the people organize movements that will actually take back our power? We outnumber them?
Once again. Sorry if this isn’t the appropriate sub for this but I could really use some good news.
