New (sub-)track loading?

Other than the obvious Simran-Nawab-Heer triangle we are all dreading, I sense a small sub-track...the drama club! Imagine our Heewab getting the lead roles there and saying all those beautiful things to each other and winning the competition or something like that? Of course, we are at the writers' mercy, so it is better to not get our hopes high.

And.....ALL MOSQUITOES SHOULD STAY AWAY!!!

The chemistry...

....that has us all captive is being under-utilized and how! I was just thinking how emotionally we are invested in this show, unfortunately, that we can feel the pain of Heewab's separation. That is a huge achievement for any show on ITV these days.

A similar story line is on in one of the other shows by the same PH but since the leads have no chemistry, we just don't feel bad about it at all. Only, that show has better writers/tighter plot...I don't know what that is working. Anyway, I think I am even tired of wishing that we get to see Heewab back together. God knows for how long this Simran story will go on. I think the makers will definitely take this to their engagement, if not marriage! They are determined.

Question

I see promos of some new shows on Colors. Do you think our show will soldier on? I am a little nervous because Simran is still around and the FD is not too excited about that.

Here's another disjointed piece. Would love your feedback!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The Color of Forever

-------------

For the quiet person she was, Heer carried quite a presence. And that was just her sight! Once she touched your life, her presence was even more alluring. Nawab had experienced it at both levels: when he had first seen her, and now, after spending a year and a half with her. Not only that, but he had also witnessed the stir she caused wherever she went: whether in the college every day or at her cousin’s wedding that day. Heads had turned, and he had spent the entire evening keeping unwanted admirers away from his girl. He had crashed the wedding shamelessly just for that! Finally, he had managed to steal her away and here they were in his car, parked at a spot hidden from the wedding venue.

With his elbow on the steering wheel and his head resting on this palm tilted, he was dreamily looking at her. She was busy brushing away the flower petals that had fallen on her during one of the ceremonies, her bangles clinking loudly.

“Nawab” she said without looking at him.

“Hmmm.”

“You’re staring.”

“I know.”

“Please look away.”

“I can’t.”

“Try.”

“I tried.” He had not blinked even once.

He was taking in everything her pretty face had to offer: the radiant glow with a pink hue, a beautiful sharp nose and…those luscious lips. Feeling a lump settle in his throat, he finally looked away momentarily to check his thoughts from treading into dangerous territory. But his eyes deflected under the magnetic pull of her face. Petals were scattered on her cheeks, along with glitter and specs of red powder that she was laboring to remove. The long tresses lining her face were perfectly black, creating a beautiful contrast with her milky complexion.

“You missed a spot” He noticed a smudge of red and moved his hand towards her forehead to help.

“Nawab!” She exclaimed and circled her fingers around his wrist to stop him as reflex action, leaving him puzzled. In that moment she looked him in the eye for the first time that evening. But it was short-lived as she was conscious again. She left his hand and pretended to smoothen her saree while looking at the dashboard.

“What happened?” He was still puzzled.

“N-nothing. Let’s get that ice-cream before our absence is felt at the wedding.”

“But you just stopped me.”

“I didn’t. Now, let’s not get late. I will have a tough time explaining.”

“Alright!” He straightened up, started the car, and looked at her one last time.

“Eyes on the road.” She smiled without looking at him.

“I am not to blame.” He was looking straight now, with a dreamy smile and they were on their way to the ice-cream parlor. His thoughts raced back to how usual the day had been for him. If they were not alone, he had one job: keeping her many admirers away. But today he also enjoyed showering her with flower petals during the various ceremonies, happily ignoring the groom and the bride. His eyes shifted to the red smudge on his fingers. That’s when it suddenly occurred to him! The car screeched to a halt on the side of the road.

“Heer, you stopped me because you thought of … forever!”

“Nawab, don’t!” She blushed.

“Yes, that’s what it was. The petals probably had the red powder and some of it fell on the parting in your hair when I was showering them upon you!”

“S-sindoor…not just red powder.” She managed to blurt it.

“Today I realized how deceptive those sealed lips and shy eyes are. You are intense, Heer! You have been thinking about…”

“Don’t say it out aloud like that” She interrupted him.

“Why not! I have been thinking about it for a year now. And imagined the moment so many times.”

“Nawab, stop it.”

“The day when you walk towards me in a red saree, surrounded by our friends and family. As always, the world will sink into oblivion, and my eyes will be only on you. And then that precious moment will arrive when we will be united forever by sindoor!”

“Nawab, please don’t imagine these things so casually. We still have a long way to go.”

“No, Heer, I don’t imagine these things casually. No. I imagine them like a prayer.”

Here's another one of my imaginations. Do let me know what you think.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Desperate Times, Desperate Measures!

------------------------------------------

He was miffed and it showed. The always-jovial, polite Nawab lost his cool over coffee in the cafeteria this morning. She knew what was wrong. After class, she looked for him everywhere to find him sulking at the other end of the corridor.

“It is final that you are going and won’t be around?” The clinking of her bangles announced her arrival.

“I have no option, Nawab.”

“What will I do without you?”

“Do you think I am happy about this? I tried to avoid it, but I couldn’t. I must attend my cousin’s wedding. They won’t let me stay here alone.”

“Stay for me. We will be alone together.” the mischief in his eye made her avert her gaze.

“I promise, I will return in a day.”

“You mean, I have to spend 24 hours without you?” his irritation returned.

“Nawab, please calm down.”

“How can I, knowing that you are comfortable with this?”

“I am not.”

“You are!” He looked away.

“Please look at me.” She held his hand. A first. “Believe me, I feel what you feel.”

“Make me believe it.”

“Nawab, I have done all I could to avoid this trip. I have given all sorts of excuses, and none have worked. You know it.”

That didn’t work.

“I will call you every hour.”

Nothing changed.

“Alright, tell me what I can do to make it easy for both of us.”

“Heer, listen to yourself! There is no ointment in the world that can soothe the pain of not having you around, even if it is for a day.”

Her face fell and didn’t know what to say. She was on the verge of crying, seeing him so irritated. Watching her cry was the one thing that would make him feel worse than what he was already experiencing. He immediately softened.

“Alright, I understand. I get it. Looks like you will have to go, and I must find a way to cope.”

WE must find a way to cope.” she corrected him.

“Keep your phone with you and take my calls because that’s all I am going to do all day tomorrow. Think about you and call you.” His thoughts took him to the next day already, where he dreamily imagined her in a saree, bejeweled and gorgeous. Suddenly, his expression changed.

“My God, you’re going to set that place on fire!” He was worried. “And I won’t be around, but…but there will be others!”

“Yes, I will be with family. Please don’t worry.”

“And you are not even aware of what you are going to do to them!” He was clearly worried about a whole other thing now.

“Y-you…you…don’t trust me?” Now the balance of power was shifting.

“I trust you, sweetheart. I don’t trust THEM!” He clarified.

“Don’t worry. I will just exchange pleasantries with everyone and not engage much.” She innocuously tried to comfort him but in vain.

“But THEY won’t be able to disengage after that exchange, no matter how pleasant or unpleasant. Do you ever look into the mirror???” He was panicking.

She blushed a color too deep.

“Please don’t look anyone in the eye! No, wait. Your lowered eyelids are a calamity in themselves! The men folk of that place are done for!” Doling out these compliments matter-of-factly, he was pacing up and down as if trying to calm the storm his thoughts had stirred in him.

“And don’t be your sweet, helpful self. You don’t know how guys are. No, that won’t help either. Even if you are salty, sour or bitter, they will stick to you. The fact that you ARE is enough for them. Those b---!”

Now she had had enough. “Nawab, you will be in my thoughts. Remember, I am leaving a piece of my heart here. And I will be only three hours away.”

This reminder was the only ointment he needed for everything he was experiencing. She was his and only his!

She reached the wedding venue with family the next day, looking like everything Nawab had imagined, only more. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice and turned. It was him! He crashed the wedding to be with her, not because he did not trust her but because he had to check prying eyes from falling on her. Desperate times, desperate measures!

A Simple Confession

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The class had just ended, and everyone headed out. Heer was reluctantly getting up to leave, hoping to run into him, when he arrived there. She knew that he had not attended the class yet here he was at the right time, not a minute early, not a minute late. The class was empty with just the two of them. She felt special at the thought that he had well-timed his entry to make sure they had a private moment or two.

Yet, feigning ignorance, she asked, “What are you doing here? The class has already ended.”

“As if you were not waiting for me”, he smirked as she lowered her eyelids.

“W-why would I wait for you?”, she mumbled, never meeting his eye once.

“Who else would?”

“Nawab, you are…”

“…telling the truth!” he leaned forward as he teased her.

“I have to leave for home now”, her pretense continued.

“Walk away from me if you can”, he moved awfully close.

She was shocked yet pleased at his boldness, which set her heart beating fast. She could barely move, as though his proximity had engulfed her.

“I have tried it and have given up” he continued.

“W-what”, was this the moment she had been waiting for, she thought.

“I have tried to remain calm and normal around you, but I cannot pretend any longer. I love you, Heer.”, he felt like a heavy weight was lifted off his chest.

These words sent her heart racing again. She had imagined this moment several times, but what she was experiencing was heavier. She stole a glance at him. The look in his eyes was captivating, causing her to loosen her grip on her books. She lowered her eyelids as if trying to hide the crimson rising on her cheeks, but it was too late.

“I can see it.”, he said.

“W-what”, she inadvertently placed her hand on her cheek as though attempting to hide the tell-tale sign of her feelings.

“That color”

“You’re imagining.”

“I am not.”

“I am j-just…”

He waited for her to complete. She couldn’t.

“I am j-just…”

“I said I love you, Heer, and you blushed red.”

She remained quiet, eyelids still lowered.

“Look at me”, he said.

“I am looking at you”

“That’s my shoulder you are looking at.”

“Nawab…”, she said as though persuading him to not insist.

“Aren’t you going to say something?”

This was worse!

“You know what I have to say.”

“Say it.”

“You know it.”

“I want to hear it.”

“I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“Because these feelings are too precious. I fear if I worded them, they may get jinxed. We have been through a lot to get here. Yearning for you with every heartbeat is all I have known. I am scared to claim…”

“…to claim?”

“To claim…you as mine.” She looked at him. Their eyes met.

“I am yours to claim. Only yours. So, unabashedly, unapologetically, authoritatively, claim me, Heer.”

“I love you!” just gushed out of her trembling lips and overflowing heart, as a tear rolled down her cheek.

They stood there in a quiet embrace, claiming each other as theirs, forever!

....."sapno ki duniya mein hi jeena behtar hai kyunki asli duniya mein sirf dil toot te hain!" I couldn't agree more after seeing the precap of TJJD! New girl, eating ice-cream with N! Oh where do I hide my pain.

It will only leave you frustrated! Heer is not and will never be yours! Just give it up already.

In today's episode, I think they portrayed Arjun's frustration properly, especially when he was showing Heer the mirror that she's more worried that N will not do anything once he finds out about their engagement. I liked that part, honestly. What do you guys think?

This one is independent of my earlier fanfic Lovers' Ordeal. I have written it upon request from a reader. Do share your thoughts about it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pillar of Strength

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was unbearable. She spent her nights wide awake, hoping it was morning soon, and in the mornings, she was restless as a bee, hoping she could just lie down for some time to stop her heart from racing. Hardships were her childhood friends, and she had learned to overcome them. She had weathered many storms of life, but what she was experiencing then was unprecedented. She was at a loss on all fronts - courage, strength, determination and her very heart - all were failing her this time. Heer had fallen in love. She had eaten the forbidden fruit. No, it was not love that was forbidden but with whom she was in love was! Falling in love with Nawab was forbidden by her father and his mother. The fact that she could do nothing about anything made it worse. She could neither help her feelings nor her circumstances.

Nawab had engulfed her senses completely. Every moment spent with him was etched in her memory forever. She was mesmerized by everything he was: playful, jealous, possessive, protective, and helpful. Above all, he exuded warm, deep, unfailing love for her! And she had turned it all down because he was forbidden by her father. Her father was one about whom she cared little, yet there was nothing she could do but surrender to his unreasonable demands, only because they affected Nawab’s future.

She had painfully watched Nawab yearn for her, spending days and nights outside her house. Those sad, lackluster eyes made him look like an imposter, posing as someone he was not. She felt that she had no right to rob him of his true self, especially after all that he had always done for her. She loved him too much to let him wither away. This is what she had been trying to explain to Arjun, her fiancé, about whom she cared only as a friend. She had revealed her true feelings for Nawab to Arjun today, once again. Only, what she had not realized was that it was not Arjun she was talking to, it was Nawab instead! Arjun was late for his cricket practice and Nawab was sitting with a hoodie at the same spot where Arjun was usually found at that time and so, she mistook him for the latter.

Nawab was experiencing a deluge of emotions with the words he had just heard. Joy, anger, peace and love rushed at him all at once. Trembling, he turned. He wanted to ask her how she could throw away what they could have built together. How could she not have realized that the two of them together were a reservoir of strength that could move mountains, let alone the situation created by her father? But these questions were for another day. In that moment, he wanted to clutch her tight in his embrace and never let her go. That is what he did. Both needed the only refuge where they could recover their strength - each other’s arms!

Nawab’s actions gave her little time to think. Before she knew it, she was in his warm embrace and she surrendered because it was the one place where she found solace and rest, which had evaded her for far too long. They were awakened into reality by the hoots of the fellow cricketers. Heer realized the magnitude of what had just happened: she had confessed her love for Nawab to him, while still being engaged to Arjun and as if that was not enough, their sudden display of affection had happened in front of an unintended audience! She quickly freed herself from his arms and ran. Nonchalant to his surroundings, Nawab ran after her determined to bring her back. Far away from the cricket ground, she stopped to catch her breath when Nawab appeared there.

In that moment, she felt as if the veil of lies that had beautifully shrouded her true feelings had been lifted suddenly, leaving her exposed. She turned away to hide the remnants of whatever she could save from being revealed, particularly her engagement to Arjun. But Nawab was not one to give up. Not after knowing what his heart had been telling him all along: that Heer belonged to him! He pulled her closer and looked into her eyes questioningly, but seeing the fear and confusion in Heer’s eyes, he softened his gaze immediately, urging her to trust him with whatever she had kept from him no matter how big it appeared.

He reminded her that she deserved happiness as much as anyone else and that she did not need to carry the cumbersome reality of the situation on her delicate shoulders. It was his job to do that for her and that he was going to do it. He may not know how yet, but he knew that he would. She let out the devastating truth about her engagement to Arjun and Nawab chuckled. Shrugging his shoulders, he authoritatively said, “Break it off! You’re mine”. The other reality was graver, and she shuddered as she thought about it. Holding her hand, he assured her that whatever her father’s demands were, they would find a way to deal with them either by brain or by brawn and she conceded. This time, Heer chose herself because she had seen how feeble she had been without him. He was indeed her pillar of strength.
