Anyone else feel like everything they make sucks when learning video editing?

I recently started learning shooting and video editing, and honestly it’s been hard. Everything I make feels bad, awkward, or just not good enough. I spend time on it, then hate the final result. Part of me wants to stop, but another part of me really wants to get better cos I see cool videos online and I’m like damn, I want to create stuff like this. Did anyone else go through this when starting out? How did you push through the phase where everything felt terrible? What actually helped you improve? Also what do you think I should learn first? I’m about to start again from scratch

How did you land your first client as a new agency owner?

I run a small digital media agency offering content shoot days and social media strategy. I’m at the very beginning and trying to figure out the most effective way to get my first paying client. I’ve tried cold DMs and walk ins but getting traction is slow. What actually worked for you when you were starting out?

Question for fellow SMMs and agency owners are content shoot days a viable standalone service?

I’m pivoting slightly and introducing content shoot days as one of my core offerings. The idea is you go in, shoot for a few hours, deliver edited video content ready to post and the client spreads it across their platforms over time.

I feel like this is where things are going businesses want content without the full commitment of a social media manager. Curious if anyone else is offering this and whether it’s actually converting into paid clients.

Would love to hear your experience 👇

Is offering content shoot days a viable service for small businesses?

Hey everyone, I run a small digital media agency in Birmingham and I’m currently introducing a new service offering; content shoot days for small businesses and personal brands.

The idea is simple. Instead of hiring a full time social media manager, a business books a shoot with me for a few hours (3, 6 or a full day depending on the package) and I create a bank of video content, edited and ready to post, that they can spread across their social media platforms over weeks or even months. I also handle captions and subtitles where needed so it’s pretty much done for you.

My thinking is that a lot of small businesses don’t want the commitment of a social media manager but they still need consistent content. A content day solves that without the ongoing cost or contract.

Has anyone tried this model? Is there a demand for it? Would love to hear from business owners or other creatives who have done something similar.
