I have a seasonal property in Ontario, Canada. We recently drilled a well and got good water flow at about 150 feet deep. Thought all was good until we checked the water hardness. It’s about 130 GPG.

Put in a salt-based water softener. Got it down to about 20 GPG. Looking for recommendations to get it even softer.

Any recommendations?

So. I live in a place with extremely hard water (130 GPG). I run a water softener system. This is a seasonal property that is open six months a year. The water heater is four years old. I decided to change my anode rod and put in an electric anode rod. This is what I pulled out of my hot water heater. Not what I expected. Has anybody ever seen this?
