Why do parents do this!?

People of Reddit… me and my friends were hanging at the park today for my friend’s birthday weekend, and me and Sky noticed a 2-year-old just wandering around by herself. We asked this 12-year-old girl where the baby’s parents were and she said “at home.” 😐

Later we realized there were actually THREE little kids there with only the 12-year-old watching them. One of the kids eventually went home, but the girl was still at the park alone trying to take care of a 2-year-old and another little kid who looked like 3 or 4. And honestly… you could tell the 12-year-old was kinda slow, n not really all there if u know what I mean, and any 12yr old isn’t really equipped to handle all that.

Like what is wrong with parents these days??

Anyway, sky wanted to take them all home so I went with her bc she’s a 6th grader and I’m 16(rising senior omg I can’t believe it). So we took them home, and immediately I could sense something wrong. We explained why we felt they should not be in the park without an adult (obvious reasons like PERVERTS could easily kidnap them) and the mom said for them to go with the dad who was right there so he took the baby and immediately shoved it at the 12yr old to hold. And bro when me and sky started to walk away one of the babies ran up to me and wanted to come with me. Op threw a whole fit wanting to come with me. Explain how a kid would rather want to be with a stranger instead of her own dad…. Must be something going on in that household, hopefully he isn’t doing anything to them…🫤 That could’ve gone so bad so fast. Like so much stuff could’ve happened to them. Idc if you live across the street from the park , parents that care would watch their kiddos. Perioddd
