Are some schools in Girls und Panzer actually co-ed?
I noticed something about the school names in GuP.
Some schools have the word "girls" in their names, such as:
女子 (joshi)
女学院 / 女学園 (jogakuin/jogakuen)
For example:
Ōarai Girls' Academy (大洗女子学園)
St. Gloriana Girls' College (聖グロリアーナ女学院)
Kuromorimine Girls' Academy (黒森峰女学園)
Maginot Girls' College (マジノ女学院)
These schools are clearly girls-only schools based on their names.
But could the other schools actually have male students, with the Sensha-dō teams simply being clubs? Maybe the anime just never shows male students because the story is entirely focused on the girls and Sensha-dō.
Or do you think the setting is simply intended to be “almost entirely female schools” even when the school names do not explicitly say so?
I’m also curious if there’s any official material or interview that has ever addressed this topic.
