Let me preface, I’m an apprentice. Was in residential install for 2 years and joined up with a commercial/industrial company as a maintenance tech about 2 months ago (so a lot of the more technical knowledge of HVAC equipment is still new to me, especially big equipment).

Well I accidentally turned on the fucking heat strips briefly (which come to find out had a piece of insulation stuck in the coils) and smoked out a building causing the entire plant (about, oh…450 some odd people) to have to evacuate as the Fire Department showed up and evaluated the situation.

Boss laughed and said “won’t be your first fuck up!” So at least there’s that but Jesus Christ…anything like that happen to any one of you?
