UIUC or UW madison HELP
Hello, I am a senior in highschool and cannot figure out where I want to go. I am majoring in biomedical engineering/ bioengineering. I have been commited to UW madison before decision day as that was the best school for me of the schools I got into. However, recently I just got off the waitlist for university of illinois urbana champaign which is my instate school.
When I visited UW madison it just felt right and I liked the campus a lot better. although the bme program is less prestigious, the seven semester design program is hands on and actually excites me. However I am paying full out of state tution. UIUC is half the price. I didn’t love the campus and the program is more theoretical than I would like it to be. However I understand the cost difference and at the end of the day it is a fun school and grainger is very prestigious. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO.
I am very fortunate that my parents can pay for both without it impacting them financially. UW madison is a perfect school for me but the price tage makes me feel really guilty when I have a high ranked school for half the price.
I know at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter where I go and It is really about perspective but do I give up my “dream school”for the cheaper option?
Please help I am so stressed 🙏🙏
