In my subconscious efforts to continue procrastinating on my manuscript, I started thinking about whether I should be creating chapter titles. Certain chapters I've written lend themselves very easily to titles and, in fact, a few really started as just a chapter title in my head when I started writing. However, most of my chapters I haven't even thought about what the title would be.
So, assuming you've decided to use chapter titles, do you, as a writer, have a hard time coming up with titles for every chapter? Or is it fairly easy when you at least have the chapter written? What makes you decide whether to include them or not?
As a reader, what do chapter titles signify to you? Is it fun trying to tease out why the chapter is titled that way? Or is it a non-starter for whatever reason?
