[iOS] ReSee — AI receipt scanner with spending insights from your real purchases
ReSee new version is online, an iPhone AI-powered app turning receipts into organized expense records and spending insights.
I built it because receipts are usually treated as something you only need later: for reimbursements, tax prep, business expenses, travel records, or checking where your money actually went. But by the time you need them, they’re often lost in a drawer, buried in the camera roll, or scattered across notes and spreadsheets.
ReSee is designed to make receipts useful right after you scan them.
What it does, automatically:
- Scan paper receipts with your iPhone
- Extract merchant, date, total, currency, category, and item-level details
- Keep the original receipt image together with the structured expense record
- Make old receipts searchable by store, purchase, amount, or category
- Organize spending by category and merchant
- Export clean reports for reimbursements, tax prep, or personal tracking
The feature I’m most excited about is AI Insights.
Instead of only storing receipts, ReSee analyzes your real purchase history and helps surface patterns such as:
- where your money is going most often
- which categories are growing over time
- repeated spending habits
- unusually high purchases
- merchant-level patterns
- item-level details that normal bank apps usually miss
Bank apps can show transactions, but they usually don’t know what was inside the receipt. ReSee keeps the itemized receipt data, so the insights can be based on what you actually bought, not just the store name and total.
