I grew up watching One Piece as a kid and absolutely loved it—I still consider it a masterpiece. However, I stopped watching once I hit middle school. Now that I’ve graduated high school, I really want to get back into the story, but there’s a problem: I’ve forgotten almost everything. I don’t even remember which arc I stopped on.

I’m planning to start over from the very beginning, but I’m torn on the best way to do it:

The Manga: I’ve heard it’s "the gold standard" and that the pacing is much better than the anime.

The Original Anime: I miss the music and the voice acting, but the 1,100+ episode count is intimidating.

The Remake: I know WIT Studio is doing a remake (The One Piece) for Netflix. Is it worth waiting for that to get a fresh start, or will it take too long to cover the story?

For those who have caught up, would you recommend I just dive into the manga, or is the original anime experience worth the time investment?
