I went back through a large number of my recent trades and noticed something frustrating.
A huge percentage of my losses happened during sideways conditions.
Not because the setups were necessarily bad, but because the market lacked clear direction and follow through.
What made this interesting is that the exact same setup performs much better when volatility expands and trend structure is clean.
Lately I’ve been experimenting with:
reducing trades during consolidation
waiting for cleaner continuation structure
avoiding forced entries during low momentum sessions
Still trying to figure out the best balance between filtering bad conditions and over filtering good setups.
