My boss talk shit about me to HR, doesn't explain or train me for the job. And now i get blamed for not knowing how things work. Should I stay or go?
I’m (25M) currently 5 months into a 6-month contract as an Management Representative. My department has a massive turnover problem (no one stays more than a year), and I’m starting to see why. My boss is extremely critical and judgmental. He recently called me to complain about my work and claimed I was doing everything wrong. The problem is, he never gave me a "memo" or any training on how things should be done. When I asked for clarity, he told me he "doesn't want to spoon-feed me" and that I need to "find the procedures alone." There is one time I ask him about his complain that i didn't do the monthly monitoring. Here is where it gets crazy: The Boss says: I should do safety monitoring monthly. My training notes say: It’s done every 4 months. The official written SOP says: It’s done every 6 months. He is talking badly about me to HR, set up a big expectation on me while being new. Judging me to only copy and paste the report because i follow the previous report, while him didn't explain shit. I feel like I'm being set up to fail. My plan was to finish the contract in July and not renew, but now I’m feeling "afraid of change" and wondering if I should try to make it work.
