5 reasons I'll never drive another ID4

I'm nearing the end of a 36-month lease on my 2023 ID4. Here are 5 reasons why I'll never buy or lease another ID4:

  1. The car violently slams on the brakes every time I back into my garage. I called the dealer and they assured me that there's no way to permanently disable the ID4's whiplash feature. It has to be turned off in the settings menu every time the car is put into reverse.
  2. Android Auto randomly disconnects every few days while driving, so I lose music and directions in the middle of my trip. To reconnect it, I need to pull over and take 5-10 minutes to reinstall it, which is fantastic when I'm running late for an appointment. I realize the car has its own navigation and radio, but I want to use android apps because it’s not 1995.
  3. There's no button to open the rear window. To open it, you need to take your eyes off the road and touch the button that toggles between front and rear windows. My 8-year-old threw up all over the rear door and seat because I couldn't open the window fast enough.
  4. The automatic windshield wipers refuse to activate when it's pouring outside, while randomly activating in dry weather, scaring the #*&% out of everyone in the car (they're extremely loud against dry glass).
  5. The driver controls are touch activated. It's fine when the car is stopped, but try to precisely tap or slide your finger while driving at 65 mph and tell me that's better than a simple button or dial. Why add this extra challenge to my drive? I don’t get it.
