Open Source Handheld Device to Help Cold Chain Logistics
Hi everyone,
If you’re using iButton Thermochrons for cold chain monitoring, you know the drill: they are indestructible and reliable, but getting the data off them usually involves manual docking stations and a lot of "boots on the ground" time.
I’m a developer/hardware engineer and I’ve spent the last few months building a handheld solution. It acts as a gateway that manages the iButtons, pulls the temperature logs automatically, and is capable of pushing them to the cloud via Wi-Fi.
Why I’m posting here: I’m trying to see if this is something the wider logistics community actually needs.
- Would a portable, IoT-enabled iButton reader change your workflow?
- What’s the biggest "missing feature" in your current temperature logging setup?
I’d love it if you could take a look and, if this looks useful for your operation, subscribe for updates while we move toward a crowdfunding campaign.
