I rent the basement of a house in the Greater Toronto Area, and my lease specifies that I am entitled to one parking space, without specifying exactly which one. The house has five parking spaces in total: two in the enclosed garage, three in the driveway (two adjacent to the garage), and the last one separated by a sidewalk, which, when parked lengthwise, blocks the other two. My landlord told me I must use the space adjacent to the sidewalk from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., and during the day I park on the street because he doesn't want his cars blocked. I know that the city allows parking on the street during the day and until 2:00 a.m., but I wonder if I actually have a parking space as stipulated in my lease? Especially since there are often incidents or collisions with cars parked on the street, which are more likely to be hit.
