Is there anything you do as an adult that your parents did and you thought was weird or unnecessary but you now do it and it makes complete sense?
Here are a few of mine...
Dip my biscuit (not a cookie) or toast in my coffee. As a kid I thought this was disgusting, but then I caught myself doing it without giving it a second thought.
Another is keeping stuff under the extra pillow beside me when I go to bed. Like my mom always kept cough drops under the pillow beside her in case she needed one in the middle of the night. It now makes complete sense...no fumbling for one on the nightstand because all I have to do is slide my hand under the pillow and there it is. Totally makes sense to adult me now.
And here's a bonus one I picked up from my granny...keeping a flashlight by my bed. This also seemed unnecessary to me, but now when I think about why she did it I realize that you need a flashlight beside your bed because if the power goes out you are stuck in the dark and can't turn on the lamp beside the bed to find your way to the oil lamp that you have to light until the power comes back on. I know this one sounds like I'm a throwback to the 1900s or something, but I swear I'm not, but I am almost 70 and lots of stuff makes sense to me that younger generations find kind of humorous.
Back to the flashlight, you can also keep it under the other pillow with your cough drops...lol. I know I could use my cell phone, buts it's just not the same.
So, what are your things?
