Hello everyone, I was hoping I could get some advice, I fell in love driving my neighbours W124 (it was a weekend car, cost 2000 euro in pretty bad condition) and im looking to buy my first car, I cant stop thinking about that old E class, it was magical. However I would be driving the car every day, for the next two years about 600km per week (to university and back home for the weekend), and after two years about 150-200km per week. I am willing to put up with the bad-ish fuel economy (8-9L/100km?), but I am worried about other maitnance cost from driving quite a bit for at least the first two years of use. I have about 7500 euros saved up from working during summers in high school and my dad is willing to contribute about 3k, so i have about 10k to work with- I feel like I can get a pretty decent W124 with that money (I live in Europe). Would you consider this a bad idea or a very bad idea?
