I'm Portuguese and live in Portugal. I worked 5 months for a Cyprus based company as a contractor. The contract is/was ruled by Cyprus law.
On March 16th, I was fired during my probation period. I was told to contact HR regarding my last payment, which I did on April 9th.
HR confirmed the amount I should put on my receipt, I issued it and send it. They confirmed it had been paid. I waited a few days until the 20th of April and, since the money wasn't in my account yet, I emailed them and asked what had happened and to send me a proof of transfer.
They said there was an unexpected delay and that it had been paid the day before (on the 19th).
It's now the 28th and I still haven't received my last salary. I demanded proof of transfer again and got no answer.
What rights do I have in this case? Do I keep insisting until they pay or should I "threaten" them with the law? I don't know how EU laws work in cases like this.
