Locals — would you ever share your favourite city walk with a stranger?

I live in a popular city. Every time my friends visit me, I always take them on a walk, the one that actually shows them the real city. Not the tourist spots, just the cute streets, the cafés, the corners, hidden gardens that feel like here.

It made me wonder whether other people have something like that too. A route you'd walk with a visiting friend that you'd never find in any guide.

The idea I'm turning over: a community where locals share their favourite routes with people visiting your city, and get paid whenever people follow your route, and you can also follow other people's routes when you travel.

Would that be something you'd actually contribute to? And honestly, what would make it feel worth your time, or not worth it at all?

Every great walk I've done abroad came from someone who actually lived there, not from any app or blog. That local knowledge exists everywhere — it just never leaves the city.

Imagine a platform where locals share their real favourite walks - The ones you'd take a visiting friend on, with photos and a note about why each spot matters. Everyone followed your walk, give you a fee in return.

You share your city. You unlock everyone else's.

Would you be up for something like that — and what would make it worth your time, or not?

Just trying to figure out if this idea could work. Honest reactions are more than welcome 😄
