▲ 105 r/Opossums

I'll just start off that I am very fond of opossums, but I accidentally came across a mom in my garage either giving birth, or feeding her young behind an old saw I have. They looked bigger than the images I've seen of new born, but didn't want to scare her, so only saw what I could see. I put cat food out and a small bowl of water, do you think this will help? Or should I have just left her alone? Just as a follow up, we have chickens and 2 ducks, and believe that the opossums are hanging out here (because I've seen quite a few), because they are eating the eggs that we aren't able to get yet
