I'm legally blind, use a guide dog or long cane for safest mobility. I come from a wrestling background (5 years competition/10 years coaching). I'm looking to register for a tournament this year, but I'm not sure about how the rules work for blind players? I see IBJJF has Para rules for Visually Impaired (VI) players. In wrestling the sighted competitor starts the same as the VI competitor hands laid alternating palmup/palm down. It looks like for IBJJF its a collar/sleeve? I assume if I'm competing the sighted player follows the same rules? Also how do I notify the organizers (Grappling Industries) I'm blind to ensure the referees know the rules? I'm not looking for an advantage just a level playing field.
