Close bear encounter tonight (May 10 8pm) on the Fort to Fort Trail – left my fishing gear behind

Hey Langley, just had a very intense bear encounter near the Derby Reach/Fort to Fort Trail beach staircase and wanted to share for awareness.
Around 8 PM, a reddish-brown black bear snuck up within 3 meters of me while I was fishing. I slowly backed up the stairs using my chair as a barrier.
In the rush, I had to leave behind:
Two fishing gear both penns
A deeper fish finder
Also, I threw my chair into the middle of the trail halfway up, so for those riding a bike or using the trail, watch out for that if you're around there tonight. The bear is very bold and comfortable around the fishing spots.
