Any extroverted writers out there? How do you make writer friends?

I understand that for many writers, the solitude is a big part of its appeal as a hobby; however, I am an extrovert, and I am struggling with it. The sit-down-in-the-chair part is hard, but I can manage that. What's difficult is the fact that other people with this hobby are mostly introverted, and for them, a few minutes texting while never leaving their house is all the interaction they seem to need to fill their friendship quota. Non-writer friends are great, but they don't want to talk about anything writing-related. I began a weekly in-person writers group a couple of years ago, and although I still show up each week, and also plan field trips for us regularly, the group has largely petered out. Now I wonder if I could make some friends at a retreat or workshop. Any ideas? Writing might be costing me more than it's worth right now. I've considered taking a long break, or even moving to a larger city, although I can't imagine I wouldn't have exactly the same issues there. I guess I just came on Reddit to whine about being lonely today. Thanks for listening.
