Theory Time: Nostradamus Actually Is Loki, Just a Different One
Alright, first things first, you might remember many posts about similarities between Nostradamus and how Loki was depicted early on in the story, such as the similar mannerisms between the two.
The latest chapter has added a few sticks to this flame, by revealing a few of Nostradamus' powers of witchcraft and clones, very similar to what Loki had.
But, why is that?
Well, before that, we must start talking about Norse Mythology, as you do when theorising about the Valkyrie anime.
Anyways, in the Prose Edda, there is a story about Thor, Loki, and two random children, who are all traveling to the east, where they meet a sleeping giant. Thor tries to wake him up by hitting him, but every time, the giant says "Hmm, a leaf must have fallen on me".
They later reach a castle, the castle of Utgard-Loki, who is a different Loki to Loki Loki. Utgard warns them that no one can stay there unless they perform a great feat, which they all try to do. Loki normal tries to win at an eating competition, but fails. One of the two random children tries to win a race, but narrowly fails. Thor first fails to drink a whole horn full of drink, failed to lift a cat, only managing to remove a paw from the ground, and failed to beat an elderly woman.
Later, the group finds themselves very disappointed, until Utgard says "What the fuck is wrong with you people" and starts dissipating the illusions. The times where Thor tried to hit the first giant, he obliterated three separate mountains. Loki lost an eating competition against the concept of fire. The random child very narrowly lost a race to the concept of thought. Thor also drank a whole bunch of he sea through the horn, held jormungandr up in the air thinking it was a cat, and put up a good fight against the concept of old age. Utgard Loki then reveals he left a whole while ago, and tells them to never come back there again
Anyways, I believe you likely get what I'm trying to say here.
Nostradamus is Utgard-Loki.
First, there's the whole debacle about having similar mannerisms to Loki. While not something from the story of Utgard, it still fits because 2 Loki's.
Second, Nostradamus' powers of cloning. While it is indeed something Loki possesses, Utgard doesn't. However, Nostradamus doesn't exactly clone himself in the same way Loki does. Instead, he uses illusion, making it seem like he is there when he is not, mimicking what Utgard-Loki did when they encountered him the first time.
If this theory is right, I don't know, haven't thought about that, but wouldn't it be cool
