I’m the dev behind Blackridge RPG, a text-based mafia/crime sim set in a stylish, gritty 1940s universe. I've been quietly building and expanding the game, and we just deployed a massive economic update that I thought this community would appreciate.
My goal with Blackridge is to take the classic browser-crime formula (crimes, gym, pvp) and wrap it in a premium UI with a massive focus on a player-driven economy.
Here’s what you can actually do in the game right now:
📈 Live Stock Market & Dividends: We just overhauled the Blackridge Exchange. It features 18 unique companies (tied to game lore) with a live ticking price engine. You can day-trade the volatility, buy the dip, or hoard dividend-paying stocks (like Crown Royal Distillery) to earn automated passive cash straight into your wallet every day at market open.
🏠 Player-to-Player Property Market: You don't just buy a house for a stat boost. Properties range from Bowery Flophouses to Sky-Fortresses. If you own a high-tier property, you can literally rent it out to other players. You set the daily rent price, and the game automatically collects it from your tenants. It’s a ruthless landlord simulator if you want it to be.
🥃 Crafting & Smuggling: Run a moonshine still in the back room of your speakeasy or upgrade your aircraft (from rusty courier planes to B-17 bombers) to run overseas contraband consignments. Successful runs earn you War Bonds, which you can trade at the Quartermaster for military-grade surplus gear.
🤝 Syndicates & Factions: Group up, pool your money into the gang vault, vote on Respect upgrades, and run coordinated hits on rival bosses.
Why play Blackridge?
- The Vibe: It doesn't look like a spreadsheet from 2004. It features a clean, responsive, dark-mode 1940s aesthetic. It looks great on desktop and mobile.
- No Energy-Clicker Spam: The game respects your time. You can play actively, or set up your properties/stocks/stills to generate income while you're offline.
- Active Development: I’m pushing updates constantly (literally just wired up automated dividend payouts today).
We have a small but highly active core group of players and a Discord server connected directly to the game via bot (it announces big hits, market crashes, and vault openings in real-time).
