Red/Purple on Bermuda Leaves??
Hey All, wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on what is going on here. Central NC, historically have seeded fescue every year but have recently started letting the back yard convert to what I assume is a common Bermuda cultivar to help since I have big dogs and kids and I like the shorter height.
Recently the leaves have started turning a reddish/purplish color. Here’s what I’ve done so far this season:
It greened up pretty early, like mid-March (area gets allllll day sunshine). Hit it with some Sta-green 10-10-10 around mid-march/early April, nothing since. Recently sprayed some broadleaf weed killer, some Bayer type stuff from Lowe’s about 2-3 weeks ago. Thought it may be fungus so sprayed propoconazole on it a couple days ago as well. That area does NOT have irrigation and I admit I’ve been lazy about watering it. Some other Bermuda patches do have irrigation and I’m not seeing that problem in those. At least not to this extent.
So I’m thinking maybe it needs water and some nutrients? or is it a fungal disease? or both? lol Thanks in advance!
