New issue with putting in contacts

Typically when I put in my contacts, I look to the side, put my contact on the outside whites of my eye and then slowly look toward where the contact is until it slips into place. I've done it this way for 2 years and never had issue. For the last month or so, it's no longer working for my right eye. Every time I put it in, I have to manually push the contact with my finger until it gets into place. My left side is fine.

I don't have any pain or any noticeable changes in my vision. I do have very dry eyes and I use preservative free eye gel drops daily. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues? I'm curious if I should ask my eye doctor about it, but I don't want to make an appt if it isn't really necessary.

Thank you! :)
