Seeking opinions on clear grip tape

Seeking opinions on clear grip tape

I'm in the process of designing my next deck (been riding for five years now), and I decided I want to make a board that looks similar to the one below. I'm going over ideas for how I can achieve a similar look, and I figured clear grip tape might be my best bet. I've read plenty of opinions and reviews online, but I want to get some extra insight from e-boarders that have tried it on their decks.

Is it true that it's not as grippy as regular tape? Is there any extra maintenance involved with it compared to regular tape? I've read MOB tape is the go-to, but are there any potentially better brands worth considering?

Plexiglass decks vs wooden - which is better?

After five years of riding my Meepo v3, I saw some heavy cracks running lengthwise in the board where the trucks fit to the deck. I noticed it affects the handling on my board now, so I'm planning on replacing the deck when I can. I've thought about commissioning a deck from Ghost Boards and putting a clear grip tape over the top, but I don't know how safe/different it'd feel compared to a stock deck.

Can plexiglass boards like that handle the same punishment a stock board can from 20MPH street riding? Are they bouncier than wood boards? How does plexiglass affect handling?
