I know this isnt a bbq sub but I really need help. Something happened to my grill grate (in stainless) and they just won't clean.

I cooked some spareribs on it and used a sugary and savory finish. Now the grate was fatty and sugary so I burned it to scrape it off. It became hard as steel. I used steel wool but it for stuck in the hard mess and now I have some kind of concrete with steel wool.

Tried to bath in dish soap and water over night but it just started to rust the steel wool. FML!

HELP?!?
