I'm rebuilding a friends 07 cr150r, everything went great until it was time to rebuild the carb. Did a full carb rebuild, full clean, new jets, gaskets, screws, everything.
At first I fought the bike only running on choke, then a fuel dump issue, now that those are sorted after the 9th time ripping apart the carb it has some terrible rev hang.
I've tried a 40, 42 and 45 pilot jet, a 45 was in there originally and ran great but must have changed something after the rebuild. I've tried the hot start plug test, accelerator pump is working and pumps fuel in the the intake correctly, TPS is calibrated, throttle cables are good, no air leaks. The original fuel screw on a 45 was nearly 4 turns out.
I picked up a flex fuel screw and no combination of adjusting that and the idle screw seems to have any positive effect. The bike starts and idles fine after warmup, but touch the throttle and the rpm jumps and stays high, like 3000+.
From what I understand the bike is still very lean but no amount of adjustments seems to be working, screw in and it wants to bog, screw out and it revs to the moon even on 1/8th turns. I hate this stupid carb and don't know what to do now after 2 weeks screwing with it. Any ideas?
