What are your summer essentials?

I was thinking back to my makeup collections over the years and feeling a little nostalgic for my middle school/early high school everyday look. Clear mascara, Blistex lip ointment, and a Cover Girl powder blush in (I'm pretty sure...) Natural Glow. My collection is still small but something about my old collection seems so young and fresh. I'm considering switching to a clear mascara and a more pinky shade of blush for the summer.

Anyone else making a few changes for the warmer weather? Or just nostalgic for a product you used in the past?

Would love any recommendations for a pink cream or liquid blush, too! Something cool and not too bright. Looking for something that is like a...natural glow. Ha!

Just having a day here, and wondering if anyone else also....

....sees the posts in r/onebag where their trip list mirrors closely what you own altogether, and you dream about packing it all into a bag and taking off somewhere? I just saw someone basically pack my wardrobes plus a few bikinis and now I want to run off to a warm beach somewhere - and stay there. Ha!

r/floordesk

I would like to reactive r/floordesk as a space to share floor desks that are only DIY creations, and not commercial options. It was banned for being unmoderated. No Mod Mail link because there are no Mods.

Making plans for this summer and feeling a little sad at realizing that a lot of the folks involved in hobbies I enjoy have become sick with GAS over the last few years. Trips are being scheduled around markets and with shopping destinations in mind. Discussions are more about packing lists and gear wishlists than the hobby activity. I don't feel like I'm missing out on new gear or even the discussions. I feel like the people in the hobby are missing out on the hobby itself and connecting with others who are enjoying the hobby. Just sad about it today.

Someone asked if the chair and light were gone from my last post yet. Yep. Some other things are gone now, too.

Lamp - gone. Son was going to put this with a few things he's storing in the basement but decided against it at the end so it was given away.

Table and rolling stool - gone. This was being considered before and I just made the decision to go ahead and part with it. It's being used by one of the kids now.

Blinds - still there. We did add back in some thin LED light strip things across the top of the windows. They plug in under the window.

Son's chair - gone. Back into their small storage area in the basement for either next winter or when they move out.

Mirror by the door - still there.

Air purifier - still there, but on that opposite wall now.

Both stupid plug adapter things - gone. No use for them and no one else in the house needed them - given away.

Fan - gone. Motor died, not fixable.

It's just a cat tree, the mirror by the door, and the air purifier in there now. The litter boxes were being lined up in the room to be changed and cleaned when I snapped the picture but they go off to their different spots afterwards. No one really uses the room anymore so it's just a spot where the cats can watch the outside and play. No plans to change that.

Inspired by u/coral_bells to share. I think I've shared before that I owned several family heirloom pieces. I've recently successfully managed to either pass those pieces on (daughter-in-law finally took the engagement ring!) or have them reassigned to other family members - save for one piece I kept. Freedom! Lol. This is what I have left.

Small travel-sized jewelry box holds all of this, and a set that I didn't want to photograph. Wedding band in the back, pair of tiny heart earrings that were a gift from daughter-in-law, and the teeniest jewelry box I've ever seen that keeps that one heirloom piece that I kept. It's the original box for that opal and pearl ring pictured.

Not pictured - the set I didn't want to photograph (a necklace and earring set that are...cremains of my late father), the tiny hoops and diamonds that are always in my ears and my tiny hoop that is always in my nose (because removing them is more work than I wanted to put into this, lol).
