Hijab ‘journey’ or ‘struggles’
As someone who has taken off the hijab part time and does not believe it is mandatory, I hate seeing people refer to hijab as this journey or I’m ‘struggling’ with it and will put it back on one day. I genuinely don’t understand the concept of hijab, it just feels performative to me and hate how it implies that as a woman I am automatically just sinful or struggling with a ‘sin’ all because I don’t have a cloth on my head? Like can we actually be serious
Why would I be on this journey to ‘perfect’ my hijab when it just seems so insignificant like what is the actual purpose other than to police women or about parents/husbands caring about THEIR reputation to their communities based on how outwardly pious their daughter/wife looks.
