My Family is Lwk weird about my Baby Cousin
I don't know if it's just me and I'm overreacting but I feel like my family (specifically my mom and aunts) are being kinda weird about my baby cousin. For context, I (16F) and my family are mostly girls/women. Only 2/6 of my grandma's kids were boys and all of my cousins are girls, and then ofc there's me and my 3 sisters. I would say we're a decently sized family and we're all pretty close. Though I do know they gossip about each other and stuff which I find uncomfortable honestly but back to the main point of this rant. He's the first boy out of I would like to say 10-ish girls and that's exciting I get it, but the comments such as "We gonna make him think no girl is good enough" which isn't exactly how it was said but it came off that way, was weird. I'm honestly worried that my aunt is gonna turn into one of those boy moms or something but I'm not really concerned.
I just feel like whenever he's around suddenly all us girls come 2nd to him and maybe it's just the jealousy I have that when he's around my mom pays him more attention but my other cousins have also thought the comments about him were weird. A cousin of mine that's a little younger than me made a not so okay joke considering his is only a few months old and it wasn't really appropriate for him, but she said something about him turning out to be gay when he grows up and my aunt (who is her mom) made it sound like a curse or something and I was kind of baffled. Like yes it wasn't really okay to say that about a baby but wouldn't you want to support your nephew? I can't give examples of more of the comments but just know they are kind of like the one I gave as an example.
Me and almost all of my cousins have agreed that the comments make us kind of uncomfortable and I'm kind of worried that he may grow up to be like I want to say spoiled? but you know what I'm talking about. Sorry for the run on sentences etc. Anyway that's all for my rant thanks for reading.
