I had fished before and caught like tiny crucian carp and perch in some spots, but they were always small and i'd only catch them in ponds where theres thousands of them. Now i fished in a real lake, trying to fish for perch with my new spinning rod. I let my friend whos a complete beginner and has only fished like once in his life try to cast and eventually he felt a bite. I thought it was another false bite from the grass, but it was pulling. He gave it to me and i started pulling it out, and i thought the color was off and it wasnt a perch like i thought. I thought maybe a roach, but roach dont eat spinners... Then i saw it, the big bad pike. Weight was 3.06kg. It had no eggs, woulda weight more with them. We went back tomorrow but caught nothing and stayed there fishing until 10pm. I dont know what were doing wrong, if you got any tips for how to catch actual perch (or even pike) in a small lake, please tell me lmao.
