Which Illinois small businesses do major insurance companies have an appetite for right now (besides auto shops)?

Did you know insurance carriers have appetites for different businesses throughout the year, so if you quote a business when their appetite is strong, you'll get better coverage at lower rates. Right now auto repair shops, dental labs & plumbing businesses are top on their list. Their appetite windows close when carriers shift focus - you can still get a good deal, but not as good as when they are competing for your business. These aren't the only industries this happens to. Appetites change constantly by business type, and some small businesses end up missing the window simply because they didn’t know it was open . Talk to your insurance broker about getting an updated quote when your window opens & 2 or more companies are competing for your biz.

If you run an Illinois small business and are curious whether your industry is “in appetite” right now, feel free to ask - happy to share what I’m seeing locally.

Auto isn’t the only industry this happens to. Appetites change constantly by business type, and some small businesses end up missing the window simply because they didn’t know it was open .
