Let's say I have Merida on board and the other player has two scuttles with ward on board and I play tug of war that deals 1 damage to each opposing character.

Would the 2 extra damage from Merida trigger on the scuttles?

I think it would since I'm not choosing them but I have heard since the wording on Merida says "that" it would not trigger.

Thoughts?
