I got a cat from a shelter several months back to be a buddy for my othwr cat. She's about 2 at this point and the shelter said she was brought in from the streets so I dont think she got much human interaction as a kitten. Ive let her have her space, but she still hides and hisses at me if I put my hand near her (just resting near her not moving in). The few times I've seen her interacting with my other cat they both kind of growled, hissed, and ran away.
She's in my craft room so shes had a lot of quiet alone time and space. She has her own water, food, and litter box.
I'm new to all of this so I dont know what to do to help her out so I can at least touch her and so she isnt aggressive/scared towards my other cat. I dont need her to be super friendly, just not scared. I'm not sure what id do right now if I had to take her to the vet for something.
She's eating, drinking, and using the litter box just fine. At the shelter she was in their open cat room so was listed as being good with other cats, which is why I got her.
