Hi all
A request for help from anyone that's for a Fender JD Tele (the Japanese version of the Fender custom shop)!!
I switched out the original neck pickup - a strat neck pickup - today for a gold foil. I've done it before and no problems.
However this time around I was in a bit of a rush and didn't pay enough attention to the wiring through the 5 way switch.
I've given up for now, but whereas the switching arrangement should be
- Bridge, 2. Out of phase strat quack, 3. Both pickups, 4. Neck with tone control, 5. Neck only - tone bypassed
I've ended up with
- Bridge, 2. Out of phase strat quack (but much darker due to the gold foil I think), 3. Bridge only, 4. Both pickups, but I think out of phase as the sound is very thin, 5. Neck with tone control
Does anyone with a JD Tele have any photos of their wiring that they could share with me? I'm not too bad at soldering, so grounding etc is not an issue. But I don't really understand guitar wiring and have been unable to troubleshoot experiment so far.
Any help (and I appreciate I'll probably get quite a bit of stick/criticism too!) is much appreciated!!
