Is standards based grading a more sophisticated 30% =D….?

Board passed a policy. Admin told us to “think about it”, which means they don’t know and want us to do the work.

But I like to walk in knowing something. So I’ve been looking into it. The grade is the mode. And I can see admin NOT using the mode and pressuring us to use the fluke highest grade.

But not using the mean, means a student needs no stamina. Be able to produce excellence for a duration.

I see this really backfiring with math.

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Is it that Europe would show up, deal with who would make deals, enable this person to “enslave”, and provide troops when needed?

I read that the slave trade was tribe v tribe. It seems like the Belgians were more direct.

But would the British, French, and Americans make deals with those who would deal?

Also, would these leaders use enslavement or token/ chit economy where you’re pulled out of your village and the only way to sustain yourself was a “company town” set up?

I’m teaching an elective that’s over the heads of my students. I mean I could help MORE if they were mainstream, but a majority of the students are Sped that need Gen Ed minutes. So there’s no support.

So I don’t have strict deadlines.

But because I don’t have strict deadlines, I have a lot of kids behind and shocked parents that they’re failing. But if I had strict deadlines I’d have shocked parents.

When the problem is admin needs to check boxes and protect budget.

For years we’ve been asked:

(All on lichert)

  1. student completes work. 2) completes homework neatly and on time 3) participants in all class activities 4) attendance, punctual and prepared 5) control of disruptive behaviors

Then open ended:

Are the accommodations working?

Student strengths

Areas for improvement

———————————-

I was wondering what kinda of data is even looked for?
